Day dates can be so much fun. Sure, you risk the possibility of being grouped into the “friend zone” on a day date. But let’s be honest, that can happen on a night date too. So throw that worry away and enjoy all the things that make a day date great.

They’re more casual.

There’s less pressure.

And there’s more of an opportunity to just “hang out” and share some laughs.

For all of these reasons we believe day dates offer a great opportunity to build a connection with someone. And if you’re in a relationship, they give you the chance to take a timeout from the busy day-to-day  and go have fun for an afternoon.

One place that makes for a perfect day date location is Eataly Chicago (43 E Ohio St, Chicago, Illinois). Eataly Chicago is a huge 60,000+ square foot market that specializes in, you guessed it, Italian food. Enclosed within that massive space are endless amounts of pasta, fresh cut lunch meats and cheeses, and an incredible selection of wines. Also enclosed in the space are some truly unique restaurants – each offering its own speciality and twist on the Eataly experience. There’s La Carne for meat-lovers. La Pizza & La Pasta for some delicious dishes pizzas and pastas. I Panini for Italian sandwiches. Vino Libero for wine and some special small dishes. And the Nutella Bar and Lait Gelato have some amazing sweets.

So why do we love Eataly Chicago for a day date? It’s a great place to walk around and have a unique dining experience. You can get lost in the market and find yourself stopping for wine with lunch meat and cheese. Then you can cozy up into one of the many restaurants for a delicious lunch. Then stroll through the market over to Lait Gelato for some terrific Italian Gelato. And before you leave you can pick up some wine and cheese for the road.

If you’re looking for a different kind of date – something fun, interactive, and casual yet memorable – we suggest making your next date a day date at Eataly Chicago.
